Title. I shot a somewhat artsy (for me) pic of our Japanese Maple tree last fall using a slow shutter and a 50mm lens I raked across the multicolored leaves. It was a cool pic, I’d like to print it on metal:
I decided to try again this year when I noticed our maple was at/near peak color and we happened to have a beautiful blue sky day (a notable occurrence in late October in the PNW). This time I decided to use a longer lens… I wish I could tell you this part was more premeditated than it was, but in truth it’s the lens that tends to live on my z8 and it was more of a justification/afterthought that a longer lens would transmit more blur for smaller motions. That afterthought ended up being true – but I also ended up with blurrier… blur. Still, I liked these, might print a few later:
These were with the 135mm f/1.8 Plena (my absolute favorite lens of all time) at the lowest ISO possible on my z8 (32?!?) at around 1/20 – 1/80th of a second each. Final image above is just a pedestrian photo of the maple leaves for reference.
