I got a new bike this week! After much research, I decided on the Lauf Seigla.
Go figure the weeks leading up to the purchase have been perfect, unseasonably sunny days and now that the bike is here we’re back to our regularly scheduled programming of rain and gloom. But as I’ve come to learn living in the PNW, you either learn to do things in the rain or you just don’t do things. Besides, I have plenty of Type 2 fun memories of being cold, wet, and miserable. Let’s do this.
I’m going to try to find gravel this weekend to give the bike a true proper test ride. But my initial lap around our neighborhood felt really good. I ended up buying a medium sized frame (I’m literally 1 centimeter under the recommended sizing for large) and raised the handlebars for a more upright riding position. Tomorrow I’m thinking about checking out Snoqualmie Valley Trail if the rain isn’t too egregious. Wish me luck!
